Remembering Dr. Cass Ingram: A Friendship and Collaboration
In the world of natural medicine, few names resonate as profoundly as Dr. Cass Ingram. Known
for his passionate advocacy of wild medicinal herbs and spices, Dr. Ingram left an indelible mark
on the field. For me, his passing in 2022 was not just the loss of a brilliant mind, but the loss of a
dear friend and collaborator.
The Beginning of a Remarkable Journey
Our paths first crossed in Walkerton, Ontario, in 2001. Dr. Ingram had come to help the people of
Walkerton with their poisoned wells, a crisis caused by contamination from the municipal
treatment plant. I was immediately struck by his depth of knowledge and his genuine enthusiasm
for natural healing. Dr. Ingram had a way of making complex concepts accessible, and his
charisma was infectious. We quickly bonded over our shared passion for holistic health and our
commitment to helping others achieve wellness through natural means.
A Mentor in the Ways of the Forest
As our friendship grew, I had the privilege of mentoring Dr. Ingram in the ways of the forest and
the bounty it offers. Together, we explored the rich, untapped potential of wild medicinal herbs
and mushrooms. Our shared adventures in nature deepened our understanding of these natural
treasures and their healing properties.
Cherished Memories
I most remember the summer of 2018 when Dr. Ingram and Miss Judy Gray from North
American Herb & Spice spent that summer with me exploring the woods and fields to find the
natural treasures that New Brunswick is famous for. The many discoveries we made led to the
birth of Purely Wild Naturals in 2019. To the late-night discussions on the phone after he became
ill, I will always cherish the secrets and knowledge that were entrusted to me.
Creating Together
Our collaboration led to the creation of many innovative products that harness the power of wild
medicinal herbs and mushrooms. These products, now available on Purely Wild Natural, are a
testament to our combined efforts and shared vision. Dr. Ingram's scientific expertise and my
knowledge of the forest complemented each other perfectly, resulting in products that are both
effective and true to nature.
Continuing His Legacy
I continue to carry on our shared passion and mission to promote natural health and wellness by
supporting and supplying his children, who now carry on with Purely Wild Naturals and North
American Herb & Spice, a company that Dr. Ingram dedicated most of his life to help create.
Every time I help someone discover the benefits of wild medicinal herbs, I feel his presence
guiding me.
